At the European level, BENCHMARKS contributes to developing an Integrated Soil Health Monitoring Framework, in collaboration with EU institutions.
Focus areas:
- Understand users’ needs and motivations for monitoring and propose soil health indicators that need to be monitored across three land uses (agricultural, urban, forestry)
- Identify EU policy needs and support the implementation of soil-relevant policies through monitoring and reporting
- Provide evidence for policy making on soils
